Christmas sales: 30% extra conversion in 30 minutes.
Yes, really.
It’s not called ‘Autumn’ in the hospitality sales world: it’s called ‘silly season.’
And for good reason, too.
The world wakes up post summer, and suddenly everyone wants to book a Christmas party- and don’t forget that we’ve still got September-November bookings to work on, too.
Increased conversion doesn’t have to mean complex business plans: simple fixes can make the biggest difference.
Read on for my quick tips on increasing conversion for your hospitality sales team…
Stop taking enquiries for dates which are fully booked
🎄 I can hear your gasps from here.
“But Rosie, we can call them and negotiate and see what-“
To which I say
Great, if you’ve got unlimited resource and you’ve unlocked the 25th hour in the day.
But if you haven’t, then you’re overloading your teams with enquiries they can’t convert, annoying your guests and wasting everyone’s time.
Close them off, put a nice message and let guests enquire for dates you actually have available.
2. Give the people the information they need
🧑🎄 If you’re getting 💩 enquiries which don’t have budget/don’t understand what you do then that’s a comms problem.
Speak to marketing and make sure your websites are clear, your product info is to hand and it’s easy to navigate.
Your enquiry funnel is only as good as your website, so make sure your departments are fully aligned.
3. PICK UP THE PHONE PICK UP THE PHONE PICK UP THE PHONE
⛄️I swear this will be on my headstone.
Calling first speeds conversion, seperates the serious enquiries from the time wasters and creates a relationship (more likely to convert).
Believe me I KNOW that there are times when firing off emails feels easier but I promise you old grandma phone is your friend, not your foe.
4. Create a schedule for your team
🏂 Are your team getting stuck in the relentless ‘new enquiry’ loop (but theyre not chasing current leads)?
That’s because they are trying to multitask (and it doesn’t work).
Give your team ‘power hours’ each day where they can go on DND and smash through their open enquiries.
Because that right there is money on the table, just begging you to take it.
5. Make everyone take a walk outside every day
🎁I’m serious. A burnt out team isn’t helpful to anyone.
Get your team to take a break outside and MAKE IT CLEAR THAT DOESNT MEAN TIKTOK OUTSIDE because that’s not a break.
5 minutes away from tech and in fresh air makes the world of difference, I absolutely promise you.
